Travel insurance is very important anytime you leave the country. Life is unpredictable enough without increasing the complexity. Once you start getting itchy from the travel bug and it’s time to take flight, please consider a few things:

·       Trip cancellation insurance covers:

o   Plane tickets, tour packages, hotel rooms, etc. are covered in the event of canceled trips.

o   Coverage reasons include:

• Sickness

• Natural disaster

• Called for jury

Trip Interruption Coverage

• Similar to cancellation coverage:

  • Coverage while your on the trip

    • Sickness while on trip

    • An emergency happens at home and you must return

Does travel insurance cover my bike if I bring it? The short answer is this can be complicated. Pedal Chile includes the use of the full suspension Giant Trance 2 (27.5) bike. We understand the last thing you want to do on your is to vacation is worry about your nice set of wheels. However, if you choose to bring your own bike:

Generally speaking, most travel insurance companies will not cover costs associated with lost, stolen, or damaged bikes.

• Some plans that we have checked out cover costs up to $2000 USD, which barely covers the cost of the rear shock.

• Some home insurance policies cover bikes, but generally only if stolen from the physical property.

Please note that we make lodging reservations several months in advance, and make other travel arrangements that cannot be refunded. For these reasons, we require 61 days minimum notice for cancellations.
