Booking & CANCELLATION POLICIES
DEPOSITS & PAYMENTS: A 30 percent deposit will reserve your space for our Pedal Chile tours. Full payment is due 60 days prior to departure. If one has not paid in full 60 days prior to trip departure and has not contacted Pedal Chile regarding alternative payment options, our office will attempt to charge the card on file. If payment in full cannot be collected, Pedal Chile reserves the right to schedule another individual in your place. In this event, guests are responsible for any associated costs.
REFUNDS: In the event that you are unable to join us the following guidelines will apply. The 30 percent deposit is non-refundable. There are no refunds after full payment has been collected 60 days prior to your start date. If you need to cancel within 60 days of your scheduled departure, you will be forfeiting the full amount of your trip, including your deposit. We therefore strongly urge you to purchase trip cancellation/ interruption insurance. If you paid in full at the time of booking and cancel at least 61 days before your start trip you will receive a refund for the amount minus deposit, plus the cost of the transaction fee. This policy has been established to meet the demands of planning well-organized trips and expeditions. If for any reason a trip ends early there will be no refund. Please note that many of our trips fill up months in advance and having to turn people away means foregone revenue for us. Also, we make lodging reservations several months in advance, and make other travel arrangements that cannot be refunded. For these reasons, we require 61 days minimum notice for cancellations.
IF YOUR TRIP IS CANCELLED: If, for any reason, Pedal Chile has to cancel your trip, all deposits and trip payments will be refunded in full, or, are fully transferable to another start date. Pedal Chile will not be responsible for any costs associated with cancellations including, but not limited to: flight cancellation fees, flight change fees, or other associated fees.
WEATHER DELAYS AND ASSOCIATED CONSIDERATIONS: In the event that your trip is unable to depart or return at the scheduled time, individuals are responsible for any associated costs including food and lodging. In the event that a trip or expedition is delayed or changed, Pedal Chile is not responsible for any delays or changes in trip structure. With that being said, day one of our trip has accounted for delays up to 12 hours and can accommodate longer delays into Valdivia if necessary. However, the purchaser should understands that weather is beyond our control, and that in no instance can a refund be processed as a result of poor weather conditions that may have affected the quality of the riding experience.
TRIP INSURANCE: Pedal Chile requires travel medical insurance, which is intended to cover medical expenses. Trip cancellation and/or trip interruption insurance is highly recommend, which covers lost luggage, canceled flights, delays, and other losses while traveling. Guests are responsible for checking to make sure they have adequate insurance to cover any medical, rescue, evacuation and/or transportation costs incurred. When considering your insurance needs, make sure that coverage extends to the area of your trip, which in this case is Chile.
LIABILITY RELEASE: Each participant on our trips is required to fill out Pedal Chile’s liability release. Liability forms will be available upon arrival.
