Spend Valentine's Day in a private hot spring located in the heart of a nature preserve. You will fly into Valdivia, Chile on Saturday, February 13th, 2021 and depart on Friday, February 19th, 2021. This mountain bike vacation follows our Guided Hot Springs MTB Tour itinerary (except this trip runs from Friday - Saturday).

FIRST DAY: SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 13th ARRIVE IN VALDIVIA, CHILE
Valdivia is home to a 25-acre botanical garden that houses close to 1000 different varieties of plant life and is bordered by the Calle Calle River. This is the perfect place to begin your all inclusive Valentine's Day vacation.
2nd Day: TODAY is VALENTINE'S DAY: PRIVATE HOT SPRING IN A NATURE PRESERVE
Today is Valentine's Day! You will be spending this special day at the Huilo Huilo Biological Reserve. This 230 square miles protected area is an ecotourism paradise. For this special day, you can select the perfect mountain bike ride for you and your partner. After mtbing through the preserve, it's time to soak in a private hot spring within the preserve.

Chile is known as the lands of poets (Two Chileans have received the Nobel Prize in Literature for their poetry). It’s customary for the husband/boy-friend to give gifts. The women in return will write a love letter for her Valentine. A letter of love written in a Romance language…….how romantic!
Interesting Fact: The Chilean summer is from December 22nd to March 20th. Dia de los enamorados is the approximate half-way point of summer. The sunset is at 8:56 p.m.
3rd DAY: XC Singletrack + The Geometric Hot Springs
After spending the night lodging in the biological reserve you will be well-rested and ready to roll for one more bike ride. After, we will shuttle to the Geometric Hot Springs, where you will enjoy 21 pools filled with natural hot spring water. If you feel like taking a cold plunge then simply jump into one of the 2 waterfalls or take a dip in a cold pool.
4th Day: Relaxation day - Rustic hot spring in a patagonia park
Day of pure relaxation. No cycling, just soaking and eating traditional food in the lake/volcano side town of Villarrica.
Today you will be soaking in natural thermal springs located within the El Rincón Reserve.
The evening meal is traditional Mapuche food. Today you will be treated to traditional food made with local Patagonian ingredients.
5th Day: Welcome to Pucon - Adventure Capital of Chile
We will start the day with a 13-mile singletrack ride that just happens to be on the side of an active volcano. This is an intermediate trail that will take you through 3 different types of forests, lava fields, and unique Patagonia flora and fauna. After, locals favorite hot spring.

Villarrica is a 9351-foot basaltic-andesite stratocone in the Chilean Lake District. *
Rucapillán, which is the original name of this volcano means “ house of the devil”. It’s believed that the frequent eruptions are the origins of the name.
According to the Global Volcanism Program, Earth is home to 7 active LAVA LAKES. Villarrica houses the 3rd largest of these molten lakes.
The active summit lava lake has a 90 to 180-foot diameter since the 1984-85 eruption. *
The lava lake is located 270 - 540 feet below the crater rim. *
“During periods when the lava lake is largely open, activity alternates between periods of fairly vigorous fountaining to heights of ~30 m”. *
Temperatures of over 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit have been recorded from the lava lake.

6th Day: pucon chile x 2
This isn’t called the Adventure Capital of Chile for nothing. Today is my favorite mountain bike ride of the trip. This 15-mile trail takes you through every possible terrain that Patagonia offers. Pucon is also loaded with food and drink options.
7th Day: Depart from Valdivia, Chile - Friday, February 19th, 2021
